Tune’s long awaited Turnstange handlebars are finally available and they’re a beautiful lightweight handlebar. A smooth matte unidirectional finish gracefully tapers from a 31.8mm clamping area into a standard 22mm mountain bike handlebar diameter. This bar, in either low (15mm) rise or flat options, will make a great platform for any discerning weight weenie looking to build up a solid mountain bike.
Designed and manufactured in Germany by Tune the handlebar passed the greuling EFBe Institute’s Tri Test which provides in depth insight into a component’s fatigue, maximum load and overload. The test also focuses on a run of products, versus just a small amount, ensuring manufacturing consistency.
The Fine Print
It’s highly recommended that you read all material that comes with each handlebar. The Turnstange can be cut 50mm on each side bringing the bar length down to 650mm. Although you can use lock-on grips bar ends will void all warranty. Any accessory put on the handlebar, such as lock-on grips, have a maximum torque setting of 2.5Nm. After careful inspection of the stem for irregularities and burs the bar should be installed using carbon paste and tightened to a maximum of 6Nm. The Turnstange is a lightweight handlebar with a recommended 85kg rider weight limit and is intended for cross country but not Enduro or Downhill.
