Known for producing stunning and beautifully light components, German carbon manufacturer THM has a unique eye for craftsmanship in their production. Their thorough dedication to building unmatched quality has put them a step above the cycling industry’s other carbon manufacturers.
This updated version of THM’s Fibula Carbon Road Brake set includes adaptations to allow for the use of modern wider rims, while retaining compatibility with narrow rims. The Fibula’s cable pull ratio is optimized for use with Shimano, Sram, and Campagnolo levers. THM was able to achieve this compromise-free design through the use of an adjustable eccentric cam, which ensures the best possible modulation and power for rims from 19 to 30 millimeters in width. Additionally, THM was able to take advantage of advances in carbon fiber production techniques through the use of Resin Transfer Molding. This process allows THM to produce carbon components that achieve consistent low weights and high strength-to-weight ratios, with better tolerances and less waste material. The Fibula’s complex, yet incredibly lightweight construction includes full carbon fiber linkages and return spring, aluminum pivots, with aluminum and titanium fasteners. At 140 grams for a complete brake set (minus brake pads), the THM Fibula is the absolute lightest multi-pivot road brakeset available.
Detailed installation instructions are included with each brakeset, and are also available in digital format here.
Notice: Failure to follow installation instructions can cause damage to the brake, pay particular attention to use of the assembly key during installation.
