Specialized S-Works Hover Carbon Handlebar

Product Description

With the S-Works Carbon Hover handlebars, Specialized has focused on increasing comfort and improving performance at one of the most important contact points on the bike.  To begin with, these bars are made from the company’s FACT carbon fiber to achieve light weights, exceptional vibration damping abilities, and high rigidity.  FACT is not just simply the name used for this high-tech carbon fiber, but an acronym that stands for an entire approach to intelligent component design and manufacturing.  FACT, or Functional Advanced Composite Technology, is an extremely comprehensive engineering process used to guide the development of new products from the initial sketches all the way through to completion.  Using this holistic approach, Specialized is able to expertly tailor their products to meet rider’s specific needs.  The process starts with their in-house design and engineering phase where the initial product development occurs; this phase has been known to take years on many bikes and components, exhibiting Specialized’s commitment to make products of the highest quality.  After this initial phase comes material selection; specific fibers, resins, and weaves are carefully selected to match the application.  After the best materials are selected, a specific “layup schedule” is developed to make sure the materials are used optimally.  Specialized employs cutting-edge manufacturing to bring these designs to life, and as a final step, extensive lab and real-world testing is performed to ensure the products live up to their expectations.

The S-Works Carbon Hover handlebars are a prime example of the high-quality, innovative products that result from Specialized’s comprehensive approach to design and manufacturing.  The FACT carbon allows these bars to be very lightweight without suffering from any performance loss, providing the perfect combination of vibration absorption and rigidity.  To maximize comfort, close attention was paid in designing the fit of these bars. The shallow drop (123mm) and reach (75mm) provide easier access to your controls throughout all hand positions, as well as easier and faster transitions between hand positions. This works to eliminate exaggerated, over-extended positioning as well as awkward transitions, which means better control and more comfortable positioning.  The Hover's unique 15mm rise helps to accommodate a wide fit range.  Specialized has all the small details covered too; textured surfaces at all clamping zones help prevent slippage on even the roughest of terrain and the drops feature drill-outs for internally wiring Shimano’s Di2 bar end junction box. These bars feature a black satin finish and are available in 38mm, 40mm, 42mm, and 44mm widths.
