In an attempt to make the best possible rim for lightweight MTB builds, Mcfk spent countless hours researching and developing the most ideal method for producing carbon rims, and yielded truly impressive results. By focusing on the layup of each individual layer of carbon in their rims, Mcfk was able to produce the absolute finest ride characteristics, coupled with an impressive amount of strength. Unlike many other carbon rim manufacturers, Mcfk builds each rim using a monocoque system, thus guaranteeing excellent strength. Each rim in crafted from a single laminated piece that is then curved into the ideal shape, thus producing a homogeneous rim with high stability and improved weight savings. Additionally, the geometry of each Mcfk carbon rim has been dialed in to produce nearly perfect wheelbuild characteristics. With an asymmetric profile, spoke tension is even throughout the build, yielding a well balanced, stronger wheel. As an added measure of ingenious design, spoke holes on the Mcfk carbon rims are compressed and laminated, achieving a much higher level of durability than carbon rims with crudely drilled holes. For their mountain rims, Mcfk recommends tire widths between 1.95 and 2.35 inches. 

Wheel Building

We recommend that wheels built with this rim be assembled by an experienced wheel builder. Mcfk recommends a maximum spoke tension of 110 kgf, with an average of 100 kgf.
