With this in mind Kcnc designed their cassette with titanium cogs mated to an aluminum spider and largest cog to further shave grams. The benefits of using the aluminum spider and largest cog are twofold. Not only does it reduce weight but also removes the possibility of the cogs digging into lightweight alloy freehub bodies. This cassette is a prime example of Kcnc’s prowess when it comes to design and manufacturing. The interface between the spider and largest cog are exact with zero room for error. The arms of the spider mesh precisely with the largest cog and steel pins maintain alignment while evenly distributing drive forces. Shift ramps and profiled teeth provide rapid, crisp shifts while preserving quiet chain engagement. Comparable in weight to aluminum cassettes but with a much longer lifespan these titanium varieties offer increased performance for the cyclist pursuing the pinnacle of performance.
