FSA's compact line of handlebars have been developed to achieve maximum comfort and control. Across their entire compact line, reduced reach to the shift and brake controls results in easier control-lever actuation without overextension. This allows riders to maintain hand position regardless of which lever or button they need to access, eliminating the sometimes awkward re-positioning needed on some standard drop bars. Easier access to the controls means better control, and elimination of over-exaggerated hand positioning greatly improves comfort. Another advantage of the compact bar shape is quicker transitions from the drops to the tops. FSA also designed their compact bars to place the rider in a drop position that allows better airflow, thus improving breathing.
The SL-K Carbon Compact Bars exhibit this improved comfort and control in a light, race ready package (231 grams/40cm). The bar is constructed with unidirectional carbon fiber that is kevlar reinforced; this keeps the bar both light and strong as well as being stiff yet forgiving. It features the latest evolution of FSA’s compact bar shape, with a shallow 125mm drop, 80mm reach, and a gentle 4 degree outward bend. The wide center section (120mm) provides ample room for mounting accessories like GPS units or lights. All clamping areas have additional reinforcement and a textured finish to avoid slip. This FSA SL-K Compact Carbon Handlebar features a 31.8mm stem clamp diameter and is available in 38mm, 40mm, 42mm, and 44mm widths.
