Introducing the Phalanx, Fair Wheel Bikes’ entry level wide profile road wheelset. Designed and produced by our professional wheel builders, the Phalanx will handle ideally for riders under 200 lbs. Built with the wider profile Kinlin XR-26T rim taking advantage of the ride characteristics that are attained with a wider tire contact patch, while simultaneously keeping the build under budget. Constructed with longevity in mind, the Phalanx is constructed using all name brand components, including Kinlin XR-26T rims, Sapim Laser spokes, and DT Swiss 350 hubs.
Kinlin’s shallow (26mm) and wide (24mm) road rim is constructed from extruded KLM41 aluminum alloy and joined with a sturdy sleeved joint. The 26mm depth offers an excellent balance of strength, weight, and aerodynamic characteristics. Each rim is anodized black and comes with a perfectly machined sidewall for an excellent brake / rim interface. Each rim comes with a lightweight tubeless rim strip installed for your convenience.
Easily one of the most desirable hubs on the market for its unparalleled durability and budget minded price tag. Tipping the scale at a feathery 149 g and 252 g package front and rear, while combining the finest traits of price, reliability, and serviceability, the DT 350 is a fantastic overall hub choice.
Lightweight, butted spokes that utilize a heavily tapered mid section which results in both higher tensile strength and reduced weight. Constructed using Sapim’s proprietary forging process, each spoke has a fatigue life 3 times that of a standard spoke, and 50% higher tensile strength.

I bought these to put on a Trek Domane which came with stock Bontrager wheels which were stiff and heavy. Changing to these really woke the bike up, the ride is more supple and smooth than the stock wheels. Riding for a week mostly on chipseal between Tucson and the border was great.
Since, I've put about 5k on them, mostly my 18.6 mile (each way) commute which includes some rail trail, and I'm delighted.
I own far costlier wheels but these are my favorites.
Some considerations - you can mount tires without a struggle, the hubs are indeed bombproof, and after 5K, they are still true and round.
Though the rim is a little tall, wind is no problem.
I'd buy them again and I'd always buy wheels from FairWheels
