Extralite infuses every bit of their artistry and mechanical creativity into all the products they create, and their line of headsets is no exception. The Head 2 design features two different, top quality stainless steel bearings; an upper micro radial bearing for weight savings, and larger Enduro Max lower bearing for durability. Tight tolerances and o-ring seals ensure minimal intrusion from the elements. Both cups, as well as the upper and lower race plates, are manufactured from 7075 aluminum. The upper cup and top cap bolt are anodized in Extralite's signature bronze, while the remaining bits are anodized in black and laser etched with exquisite detail.
Due to the delicate nature of the radial upper bearing, Extralite provides a headset press adapter which must be used to properly distribute load when installing the headset.
The Head 2 is a standard 1-1/8 inch press-in headset for 34mm ID head tubes.
The Scalhead is a semi-integrated (internal) headset for 44mm ID head tubes.
The Integrhead is an integrated headset for 42mm head tubes with a 45 degree chamfer.
The TaperHead 2 is an integrated headset for 1-1/8 inch to 1-1/2 inch tapered steerer tubes.
