Developed through extensive aerodynamic testing and with feedback from the WorldTour riders of Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka, the Enve SES Aero Road Stem places itself among the most advanced, fastest bicycle stems on the planet. Beyond its clever innovations and sleek design features, the Aero Road stem is optimized for the best possible ride quality that its carbon fiber composition can provide: high-frequency vibration damping for all day comfort, combined with impressive stiffness for confident control and handling.
Understanding that aerodynamics in cycling are largely affected by rider position, Enve developed an adjustable steerer tube interface for their Aero Stem to allow body position to be fine-tuned for the best possible aerodynamic efficiency. This interface uses a set of two interchangeable shims to allow micro adjustments in both the stem's length and its rise. The first shim sets the rise at either -7° or -17°, while the second shim sets the angle at -12° with a length options of +2.5mm or -2.5mm. The included top cap, while requiring the removal of any excess steerer tube, completes the stem's smooth lines and aerodynamic profile.
Both the steerer tube and handlebar clamps are designed to fit the current industry standards of 1-1/8" and 31.8mm, respectively. This stem is ideally paired with Enve's SES Aero Road Handlebar, but is compatible with nearly all modern road handlebars.
Use of a torque wrench is highly recommended when installing any ENVE stem. Each bolt rated to a maximum torque of 5.5 Nm. An Assembly compound such as Park Tool's Supergrip Compound will aid in assembly by increasing friction in the clamp area, thus reducing necessary bolt torque.
