King is a company that believes in long-lasting, investment grade parts that are fully serviceable and without compromise. Designed for 24mm spindle cranks, their ThreadFit 24 Bottom Bracket is a perfect example of King’s dedication to ultra-premium parts. At the heart of this bottom bracket are the legendary King sealed bearings. Common radial bearings are just not capable of providing the level of performance and adjustability King achieves with their sealed, angular-contact design. Each bearing is assembled and inspected by hand in Portland, Oregon to ensure optimal performance and longevity. These bearings wear in when other bearings wear out, getting better and faster with age. When bearing service is needed, the process has been made easy with no special tools required. Simply removing the snap ring and seal allows cleaning and re-lubrication of the bearings, ensuring a lifetime of faithful service.
The fit and finish of the rest of the bottom bracket mirrors the high quality of its bearings. Handsome, precisely machined anodized cups house the bearings, providing a precise and functional interface between the frame and crankset, allowing cranks to spin freely without interference. A range of conversion kits can be used with the ThreadFit 24 to fit a wide selection of road and mountain bikes. These kits make it simple to install many different 24mm spindle cranksets (as well as those with 24mm/22mm stepped spindles such as Sram GXP) onto BSA threaded frames, including longer spindle cranks designed for wider press-fit bottom bracket shells.
