To maximize pedal stroke efficiency and power, Carbon-Ti presents their X-Carbocam asymmetric chainrings. The ovalized ring shape allows optimization of power and efficiency by minimizing the effect of “dead spots” in the pedal stroke. Weight is kept extremely low (The 50 tooth weighs in at a mere 82 grams while the 52 tooth is only 86 grams) using a mixture of carbon (inner body), AL7075-T6 aluminum (teeth), and titanium (shift pins). By utilizing these varied materials, Carbon-Ti is able to achieve both a lightweight and highly functional ring; the carbon body keeps weights low while the aluminum and titanium parts aid in shift quality and durability. These chainrings feature a 110 BCD 4-bolt pattern and are 100% made in Italy (110 BCD 5-Bolt version available here). The Carbon-Ti Carbocam rings are designed to be paired only with their aluminum siblings, the Carbon-Ti X-RoadCam rings (available here from the drop-down meuu). The designated combinations are 50/36 or 52/38; mismatching ring sizes or mating these with other manufacturer's inner rings will compromise the shifting performance.
The Carbon-Ti 36 and 38 tooth X-RoadCam rings are manufactured entirely from AL7075-T6 aluminum and weigh a scant 31 and 41 grams respectively. They feature the same asymmetrical construction as their big-ring partners, thus offering the same optimization of power and efficiency. Like all Carbon-Ti products, they are made 100% in Italy.
