The spider allows direct-mount cranks like the eeWings to accommodate 110 BCD chainrings, available in both 1x and 2x configurations. The 2x drivetrain configuration offers riders greater gear versatility, while the 110 BCD 1x chainrings, typically available in larger sizes than direct-mount options, appeal especially to gravel, all-road, and traditional road cyclists.

In response to the rising popularity of 48/32 subcompact gearing, this version includes a 2x crank spider compatible with the smaller 32t chainring. The updated design ensures smooth chain clearance on the smaller chainring when mounted on the spider.
