With the introduction of a direct mount option for the EE brake, it's a fact that this will be the stand-out brake of the fledgling standard. Lighter than the BR-9010 from Shimano, it will provide the same braking force and will set a new standard for adjust-ability and feel among all other brake companies. Compatibility with frames will vary; refer to the chart below for more information.
Front - The current model front DM EE Brake uses a new forged aero-light front arch that provides aerodynamic efficiency, low weight, and outstanding braking performance. This model fits most forks with forward-facing direct mount brakes, as well as the rear of the Trek Emonda and other frames that use a direct mount brake on the rear at the seat stays. (Some frames with aero seat tubes and low seat stay/seat tube junctions that use Direct Mount brakes on the seat stays may not provide clearance needed for the EE Brake).
Rear - The current model rear DM EE Brake is ideally suited for road and TT frames with the brake situated under the bottom bracket. The DM provides a narrow brake profile for clearance at bottom bracket/chain stay area inside of the crank for crank arm fitted power meters including Stages and Pioneer power meters. The “across the center” EE Brake cable routing works perfectly in the space limitations under the bottom bracket. The EE Brake DM rear brings the EE Brake’s light weight, functionality and braking performance to the under the bottom bracket location.
Specialized Tarmac - This version of the EE Brake is designed to specifically fit the 2018+ Specialized Tarmac. This brakeset features slight tweaks to its dimensions, and both brakes are equipped with the full EE logo bridge for a cleaner aesthetic. Please note that Tarmac frame sizes 49 - 54cm will require an additional rear brake adapter, which is sold separately.
