With over four decades of history in the cycling industry, Cane Creek has invested in innovation and developing products that withstand years of use and abuse. Their factory and headquarters are still located in a building commissioned by Dia-Compe in the 1970s. The well known Japanese parts manufacturer started supplying brakes to the up and coming US bike manufacturers and needed to increase production to match demand. 1991 saw Dia-Compe USA emerge, and with a patent for one of the most widely used parts in the market. The Aheadset threadless headset design lives on to this day as the basis for almost every modern headset option on the market. Officially adopting the name Cane Creek in 1992, they quickly became known for their best in class approach towards every product in their catalog. Having gained notoriety for their well designed and manufactured in USA dependability (US production was started back up in 2008) Cane Creek has become a favorite of riders and mechanics for their economical and durable parts. Offering a wide variety of products ranging from their premium line of suspension components and AngleSet geared towards gravity riders, to the ultralight EE brake calipers for road and racing applications, Cane Creek has a part to match every riders needs.
The AER Headset is the premium offering of Cane Creeks headsets. Meticulously machined from aluminum and brilliantly anodized each part is its own little work of art. Featuring their hybrid bearing, two steel races contained within an aluminum cup. The bearing alone is 35% lighter than a standard steel bearing offering considerable weight savings without sacrificing durability. This makes the AER Series-II headset one of the worlds lightest, while maintaining the easy serviceability of a standard design. The contoured machining removes as much material as possible without affecting strength, and provides a sleek sculpted finish. Looks and weight however were not the only consideration for these headset designs. Fully compatible with Cane Creeks 40, and 110 series headsets, spare parts are readily available at most shops or direct from Cane Creek. For the lightest headset that doesn't sacrifice durability and longevity in the race for weight savings the AER Series-II is the ideal choice.
Compatible with almost every modern frame and fork, there is an option for Traditional (EC), Integrated (IS), and Semi-Integrated (ZS) head tubes as well as choices between 1-1/4 inch, and 1-1/2 inch.
