Cane Creek has been manufacturing best in class headsets and bike components for over four decades. With an uncompromising attitude toward quality control and compatibility, it is easy to see why Cane Creek has become a favorite among riders of every sect. Originally pioneering the thread-less headset design, known then as Dia-Compe USA, the Aheadset concept has changed little over the years and remains the basis for almost every headset on the market. Having manufacturing based here in the USA is another reason we like Cane Creek. What was seen by many as a risky move, bringing manufacturing back to the states after the 07-08 financial crisis has actually been exceptionally good for Cane Creek. With the establishment of in house manufacturing, the time between design, prototyping, and production has been significantly reduced. Adding to the list of benefits is improved quality control. For a company who's goal is best in class performance from each of their products, quality becomes paramount.
The 110-Series headsets are named not because of their weight or material selected, but the warranty that is offered on them. That's right, a 110-Series headset is backed by a 110 year warranty. With so many components on the market coming with a short, or non existent warranty period, it is refreshing to see a company who designs, builds, and stands behind their product with such assurance. When you hold a 110 headset in your hands you can see and feel what makes it such an impressive piece of work. The design is simple, but with many small intricacies that make it stand out above the competition. The most noticeable is the captive compression ring, which is invaluable in keeping it from running away to the darkest, dustiest corner of the shop or garage. Cane Creek machines a lip into the top cover to hold in in place, when servicing or removing the worry of losing parts is a thing of the past. The all stainless steel bearing is double shielded, but the cover also has its own lip seal for additional protection. While the machining is not as extensive when compared to the AER headsets it is still quite thorough. Finished off with a deep, glossy anodizing and laser etched graphics the 110-Series headset compliments every style of build from custom to production.
