Alligator's Diamond series brake rotors are based around a patented symmetric floating design that provides excellent performance and rider safety in a stylish package. These rotors are especially useful for riders that experience heat management issues, whether on mountain or road disc bikes. Due to being directly constrained to the hub shell, standard one-piece steel rotors can experience warping in high-heat situations such as long descents or winding technical courses. The Diamond rotor's floating two-piece design uses high-strength rivets to hold and isolate the steel braking surface from its aluminum carrier, allowing the steel section to freely expand and contract as it heats and cools. Unlike many other rotor designs, the Diamond is fully symmetric and non-directional and can safely be mounted without worrying about proper orientation.
The production of Alligator brake rotors is truly an international effort, combining Italian design, German engineering, and Taiwanese production for a unique and superior product line. Each rotor includes a complete set of steel mounting bolts and washers.
