Absolute Black's 1X chainrings are meant to adapt standard four bolt 104 BCD cranks to SRAM's 1X drivetrains, or to adapt Shimano's 9, 10, and 11 speed drivetrains to a 1X setup. For cyclists who desire a single ring drivetrain, these rings considerably open up aftermarket crankset options. Like the other iterations of Absolute Black's 1x chainrings, these rings come with a narrow-wide tooth profile. With this alternating pattern of thick and thin teeth, the ring firmly grips the inner and outer plates of the chain. Secure contact is thus maintained through some of the roughest terrain without the need for a chain guide. Absolute Black's single rings were originally designed for use with SRAM's 1x11 drivetrains, but they are fully compatible with a variety of drivetrain combinations, including Shimano chains and drivetrains.
