Vredestein’s nimble Spotted Cat is a fast and light creature designed to roll rapidly over dry, non-technical terrain. Performing best under the “ideal” conditions often encountered in extreme endurance events, this tire will keep the speed up while providing ample traction during hard accelerations, sudden braking, and aggressive cornering. On semi-technical or mixed courses, the Spotted Cat can perform well as a rear tire when paired with a more aggressive front tire (such as Vredestein's Black Panther). This compromise allows maximum speed and traction from the rear end while adding extra traction up front to allow the rider safe navigation through technical sections.
The TriComp X triple-compound tread features seven rows of miniature knobs. The center knobs are molded with a harder rubber for greater durability and lower rolling resistance, while the outer knobs are larger and softer to provide extra grip when leaning into corners at speed. The Spotted Cat is built with a supple and light 120 TPI casing and a high quality Kevlar folding bead, and is one of the lightest 29er tires in its class.
