Tune Smartfoot Road Crankset Details
The aptly named Tune Smartfoot crankset is an elegant, intellegently-designed crankset that promises excellent performance, low weight, and near-universal compatibility. The hallmark of this design is the wide 30 mm hollow aluminum spindle. The spindle is fixed to the drive side crank arm in traditional fashion for a 2-piece crankset, and the non-drive side is fastened to the splined end of the spindle via a large preload bolt and two opposing steel pinch bolts. This time-tested design is extemely precise, secure, and easily serviced. The oversize nature of this crankset provides superior power transfer through improved stiffness.
The Smartfoot comes equipped with Tune's lightweight aluminum chainrings, mounted with a combination of aluminum and titanium fasteners. These chainrings feature machined ramps, steel shift pins, and relieved tooth profiles for optimum shifting performance.
The finish work shows excellent attention to detail. The crank arms are highly polished prior to anodizing for a glossy, bright appearance. Tune's Black Forest logo graces the face of either crank arm in fine, laser-etched detail.
Ordering
The Smartfoot design is similar to BB386EVO, which optimizes crank performance without sacrificing bottom bracket compatibility. As such, the Smartfoot is compatible with nearly all current bottom bracket standards. Bottom Brackets must be purchased separately, and are available here. Please note that the Smartfoot is currently only manufactured in 172.5 and 175 mm lengths.

The Smartfoot's removable spider allows installation of a power meter. SRM has designed a power measuring unit specifically for this crankset, which blends seamlessly through color-matched anodizing and a Tune-logoed weather cover.
