Detail
The growing popularity of Cannondale's Lefty front suspension has convinced several boutique manufacturers to produce front hubs compatible with the Lefty design. The advantage of a these design-specific hubs is that a wheel can be built to the rider's specifications for weight savings with optimal strength and durability. Tune's Cannonball hub, paired with a Tune Kong rear hub, is a great option for Cannondale riders looking to build up a special wheelset for their rigs.
The Cannonball uses a stout yet minimalist design to reach a sub-100 gram weight while achieving high marks in aesthetic appeal. The semi polished hub shell and high quality color anodizing with laser etched graphics complete an unmistakable Tune look. This is a disc brake hub with a standard ISO six bolt pattern. Tune assigns no rider weight limit for the Cannonball hub.
All Tune hubs are manufactured in Germany to the highest quality standards, and are backed by a two year warranty against material and manufacturing defects.
Assembly and InstallationWe recommend that wheels built with Tune hubs be assembled by an experienced wheel builder. We are happy to provide this service, and can provide helpful suggestions in rim and spoke selections. Please
contact us directly or submit a form for a custom wheel build
here. Please note that a Lefty dummy axle is required to properly build and true a wheel built with the Cannonball hub.
Installation of the Cannonball hub onto a Lefty fork is easy; simply slide the hub onto the fork's axle and torque the mounting bolt to 6-8 Nm. Tune recommends the use of Loctite 243 or 262 on the mounting bolt's threads.
