These BB30 adapter bearing cups are designed for use with THM's line of Clavicula cranksets. Compatible bottom bracket shells will be 68 mm wide with an inner diameter of 42 mm. The BB30's standard of relatively narrow bearing placement could lead to considerable axle deformations with THM's design. Therefore, their solution was to create this adapter that keeps the bearings outside the shell, reducing load on the axle. Another advantage of this adapter is it allows use of the same THM cranks for both standard threaded and modern BB30 frames. The 12 gram weight increase over the THM's standard design is minimal.
