This DP68 version of the Clavicula mountain double crankset is THM's absolute lightest mountain crankset. By manufacturing a spindle specific to 68 mm bottom bracket shells, they were able to shave an addition 20 grams off their already super light design. The DP68 belongs to those riders looking for the lightest, best crankset in the world.
This "dp" model (Latin for "double") with its two-chainring design is intended for stronger riders and fast courses. Advantages over traditional triple chainring cranks are improved shifting and lower weight. In addition, the improved chainline allows for the use of almost the full gear range across the cassette. The shorter bottom bracket spindle leads to markedly higher stiffness and better cornering clearance.
Please note that chainrings are NOT included with this crankset. Compatible chainrings include any common 4-bolt 104 BCD rings. This chainring bolt pattern allows for the use of a 32 tooth small chainring. An exception is Extralite's specially-designed 30 tooth chainring
. The crank comes complete with bottom bracket and mounting tool.
A proprietary bottom bracket cup tool is included with each Clavicula crankset. Along with this tool, all that is required for installation is a 4mm hex wrench and a torque wrench. Detailed installation instructions are included.
