THM Road Bottom Brackets

THM Bottom Bracket Details

As a standard, THM cranks use a 30mm spindle. In order to satisfy an ever growing market of new bottom bracket standards, THM has created several BB’s to be used with their Clavicula, M3 cranks, and 68mm wide mountain bike cranks in the following five bottom bracket shell sizes.

BSA English

Fits standard sized bottom bracket shells with English facing threads.

Italian

Fits standard sized bottom bracket shells with Italian facing threads.

BB30

Fits oversized BB30 frames.

PF BB30

Fits oversized BB30 frames, which are specifically Press Fit.

BB Right

Fits Cervelo’s BB Right bottom bracket standard.

Shimano Press Fit

Fits Trek’s BB90 bottom bracket standard.

THM is able to achieve this wide range of compatibility with their relatively wide 30mm spindle by externalizing their bearings, rather than a standard BB30 design which internalizes them. This additionally helps distribute, and thus reduce load on the spindle axle.
