Introducing the Next SL mountain bike crank from Race Face. These are Canadian-manufactured from American-sourced carbon and aluminum. Due to Race Face's proven hollow crank arm technology, These have jumped right into the fray as one of the lightest production cranksets out there, on par with THM Clavicula mountain cranks. The Next SL cranks are designed to withstand a lot of abuse, and are rated for use in XC race, trail, and enduro style riding.
Unlike many other crank manufacturers that claim to produce cranks with full carbon arms, the Next SL crankarms are completely hollow, without using an aluminum spine running the length of the arm.
The Next SL also takes advantage of Race Face's own proprietary spider and chainring interface called the "Cinch" system. Essentially the chainring or spider is held on by a lockring that can be removed with a conventional Shimano-type splined BB tool such as the Park #BBT-22. This means that the Cinch system is extremely secure, while easily swapping to different configurations.
As if the Next SL crankset wasn't innovative enough as is, it also debuts the Race Face "Narrow Wide" chainrings. As the name entails, these employ chainring teeth with a narrow to wide profile, with teeth specific to the male or female parts of your chain, making them the perfect component choice for everything from single speed to 1 x 9, 10, or 11 speed applications.
