Details

NeilPryde’s prowess in carbon fiber manufacturing is renowned for their cutting edge designs in water sports. Starting in 1970 as a simple sail manufacturer for yachts in the European market , NeilPryde quickly moved on to carbon fiber mast production as well. Later on they would begin to design and construct some of the fastest wind surfing vessels in the world, setting several world records. Through a combination of their own technical proficiency and a partnership with BMW’s DesignworksUSA, NeilPryde is able to produce some original and ingenious frame designs that can compete with any other frame of the elite echelon.

Based on the same technology that enables the BuraSL to remain horizontally stiff, while having enough vertical compliance to provide the rider with desirable frame characteristics, the Zephyr takes comfort to the next level. Constructed with the idea of providing a pro level ride that would remain comfortable through long days in the saddle or on unevenly paved roads, such as what is experienced during the the Pari - Roubaix. By utilizing a specially designed carbon fiber layup coupled with ingenious tubing shapes, the Zephyr is able to highly dampen violent vibrations from poor road conditions. With cantilever-like drop outs attached to ultra thin, bowed seat stays the rear triangle is able to subtly flex vertically, saving your tailbone from the jarring motion of poorly maintained roads, while maintaining ideal power transfer characteristics, horizontally. In order to take fatigue away from the rider’s hands, NeilPryde enabled the Zephyr fork to flex under the strain of the road. With slightly curved fork blades, the Zephyr fork is able to bow under extreme vibration, while still providing race ready geometry throughout the ride.

Changing up the geometry slightly for ideal ride quality, the Zephyr features a longer wheelbase, slightly slacker head tube angles, and a raised head tube height for long, painless miles on the road. Available in 5 sizes from 46 cm to 58 cm, NeilPryde simplifies the process of dialing in your personal fit, while making no compromise in performance.
