Interbike: Sneak Peek.

Postby madcow » Sat Sep 23, 2006 1:05 am

So I thought I'd give the members a sneak peek at our showbikes for the year.

Alot of people thought we would be working on a new light bike, but seeing as how we didn't think there was too much more to do there, we went another way. We decided to build the worlds best bike. Of course best is subjective, and some may disagree, but I personally think we succeeded. A big thanks to those that helped, Lee, Nils, Christian and Rob especially.

Special thanks to those in the industry that bent over backwards to fulfill some crazy requests. Tom and Bob at Parlee, Dave Sem for the insane paint. Axel for the seatpillar head, and THM for the expedited matt crank.

Realize that there are absolutely no decals on this frame. Every piece, including the made in the USA, is hand painted. As well, the amount of ghost paint on the frame is unbelieveable.

So onto the Parlee Z-Proto.

Congrats on a great build Jason, I think it will be a hit at the show :D

The more I look at the pictures the more I realize this is like nothing I have ever seen before.

Stunning jason! Hopefully I'll see it at interbike. I'm going to have to cut a few cm out of that seatpost so I can ride it of course. I'm sure you won't mind. ;-)

Any chance of it 'accidently' getting shipped to Australia?

That bike is so cool

I would love to see it live. It seems like it has a lot of details that isn't worthy of being shown on pictures.

Congrats on finishing it! Good luck at Interbike.

I love carbon bits, and I can not lie! You other brothers can't deny, when a bike comes in with alot of carbon bits and some cool wheels in your face, you get sprung!

Jason, if I'll send the loupe back, can I have that bike instead? NO? How 'bout if I'll send the lamb curry, or the three quarters of it. (it wasn't that tasty)?

 Man that IS teh pr0n!

amazing bike... the best I've seen since the R3over on WW.
The Parlee frames are always understated.
The paint job is A+++++!!! I'm sure the pics aren't as nice as the real thing.
The seatpost/Ax system looks very tricky! Good job with that.
I'm sure this is a dream-come-true for the lucky rider who owns this show stopper. To me, the look is more traditional, with the low profile rims and skin colored tires, colorful and dramatic paint... but it's really the ultimate symbol of the melding of man and technology.

Why the Oval stem?

I love the paint job and the saddle clamp detailing looks pretty cool too.

The details are amazing, but as a whole it is really not my style. It doesn't seem to have a nice flowing theme. The cranks/rings don't really flow, I am just being picky though. Parts wise the bike is top shelf. The details in the seat clamp are swanky though :)
