Otherwise that would be probably really the best way - to make your own ALU cradle. The only thing that I'm concerned by those cradles are the saddle rails..but obviously there is no problem. An ALU cradle with the same shape shouldn't be a problem to make, but it would be around twice the weight of the carbon one.
