Without further ado, I present you my new S2.





and the obligatory BF white garage door pic.

I'm not sure if I like it better than my SLC, but it doesn't have a crack in the top tube, and it was free. It's really starting to grow on me though. For reference, here is the fallen comrade:

I had the SLC down to 6020g, with lighter bars, and a few other parts. I really like these bars however despite the weight penalty. The new S2 weighed in at 6130 today, which makes me suspect it is about 20-30g more than the SLC. Hopefully they put it all in the top tube.

Thanks guys. It was replaced under warranty from Cervelo. It developed a strange X shape crack in the top tube a few inches in front of the seat tube.

Yeah, idk if it was lucky. I did like the looks of the old SLC a lot. I was sad to see her go. Cervelo handled the warranty in an awesome manner, and had me a new frameset at the shop in a week. I can't ask for better service than that.

I'm not sure if I'd call having a frame crack good luck, but the way it was handled sounds really good.

I agree about the looks of the SLC, but your S2 looks good as well.

Exactly. I do like the black. It is really growing on me. They also sent me a new fork as well. It had the stripes that match the ones on the frame. I made the executive decision to send it back, and keep my old fork. I think it looks best that way. The stripes on the fork are too busy looking to me. I think I am going to have to break down, and buy some new chainrings. The Extralite small ring looks kinda dumb next to the Stronglite big ring with the black frame in the garage door shot. I am still thinking about trying some Fibre-Lyte rings, or some other options.

After reading the review of the Far, and Near chainrings on this site. I am thinking that might be a good choice as well. I also have been kicking around the idea of KCNC rings, I've always had good luck with those before. I was thinking these would look nice, and add a bit of color to the bike.

I am completely exhausted from today's ride, so I was bored, and decided to try photochopping the new KCNC Blade rings on the S2. What do you guys think? I was thinking it would be a bit much, but after photochopping it, I kinda like it.

I weighed my Stronglite 50t, and it is 98g. So there is some room for improvement there. I wish it didn't have the big logos. I think they are laser etched in. I wonder if I have it anodized black, if it would make them ghost logos on the ring. It's either that or an aero Fibre-lyte ring, I am thinking. I would do Far, and Near, but I don't want to add more color to the rings. I also want to strip the logos off of the cranks, and reclear them. After that some derailleur tuning, and possibly some lighter bars, if the Zipp Vuka Sprint is ever released. I hear they may change the UCI limit to 6000g, so I'll have to try to break that.
