35 gram dash saddle

Postby Donald » Tue Jun 28, 2011 11:20 pm

My new saddle looks very well made. I am looking forward to installing it on my bike tomorrow and going for a ride. I think that with this saddle and the dash hubs my bike should be around 7.98 lbs. 3,640 grams. I will put it on the scale tomorrow.

Wow. It's like a trike saddle!
Have you ever wondered if there was more to life, other than being really, really, ridiculously good looking?

Yesterday I had a nice ride with the new saddle. My experience was about the same as on my Becker saddle, when sitting down I didn't feel that there is the very short nose. Nothing different going from standing to sitting than other saddles. The saddle is comfortable and I don't think there will be any problems with it. dash has many different models but this one is the lightest.

I've worked on some bikes that had noseless saddles - not for weight savings but because the rider had men's health issues. (Is there such thing as Weenie weenies?) Anyway for me it is nearly impossible to ride no-hands on one.. Can you still ride with the hands off the bars?
the problem? could be the nut behind the handlebars.

I have had three rides with this new saddle. I can ride no hands on the bar, but if the saddle was tilted down a little there could be a problem riding no hands.

I just read about the nut saving qualities of a nose-less saddle. Plus it's lighter. I like it.

Not to mention not having to worry about the 5cm setback rule.

Dash makes some nice products, but boy is it expensive! Too expensive if you ask me.

Exactly. I'm into AX and buy AX without a second thought and I think Dash is too expensive. That's the point. They really are limiting their market. Is $800 for a saddle a little much?! They also squeeze their market even tighter by limiting their rider weight limits to 80kg and less.
