Well- after a retul fitting, I found out I should be on a size small frame and not a medium. As I simply cannot justify another frame purchase right now, we worked on getting me into an optimal position for this frame, which meant-

lose the xx-light seatpost for a setback post
lose the schmolke bars for ones with a shorter reach/drop
lose the 100mm stem for a 90mm stem

Fortunately the 3 above things sold relatively quickly and for more than my replacements ended up costing me (save the stem).

I also switched from lightning cranks to zipps which dropped about 20g.

Replacements:

pro-vibe carbon setback post 31.6x280 152g (xx-light was 91g)
ritchey superlogic II carbon bars 183g (schmolkes were 159g)
extralite oc stem (same weight)

So, I ended up gaining 85g (at least that'll be the net when I get the extralite stem) - the 20g for a 65g gain. Of course, I now need to shorten my cables and housing- the shorter reach and narrower bars require less housing so that'll knock back a few more grams. If I used an alloy cassette I could probably get it back under 11.5lbs- at the lowest I had it at 11.33lbs.
I will be switching to a sram cassette once the 7900 cassette wears out, which will probably drop another 15-20g.

On the upside-- the difference in my position is just unbelieveable- I'll never go to a new frame/bike w/out getting fit.

Now if I could just sell the brand new schmolke tlo bars I have laying around

yeah- need to finish it off- moving your bars/shifters back by stem length/reach creats a lot of extra cables sticking out. Need to finish it off! Besides, who wants to put a pic up w/ a FSA stem on there?

Eric go with a Red cassette. They are a bit loud, but my 11-23 Red cass, is 55g lighter than my 11-23 Force cassette. That makes up most of your difference, and the loud thing isn't that big of a deal.

Already have it (Red).

On another note- I rode 60 miles yesterday (temps in the mid-40's). The fitting was worth every freaking penny-- usually within a couple of hours of finishing a ride my quads hurt like hell walking downstairs- no pain- NONE. When I woke up this morning I had no pain nor soreness. Let's hope this becomes the norm!

NOW SOMEONE BUY MY FREAKING SCHMOLKE BARS!

So, I got around to installing an extralite OC stem- I was using a FSA 115 stem until it arrived- nice go to from 148g to 81g. I put the bike on the scale- keep in mind I haven't shortened my i-links nor replaced the rear brake cable with a powercord (the front is still a PC, I just ran out last time I switched things around- I have them now). I'm also still using the 7900 cassette instead of a sram red.

I threw it on the scale just for kicks - 11.64lbs. If I went w/ an alloy cassette I'd have it under 11.5 again. (I Know, I need pics- yeah, when I finish everything up) BTW- that's 11.64 w/ the garmin 500 and speed/cadence sensor on there!

Hi quick question, I am looking at one of these frames, what is your seat top to BB in cm, please?

Mines 73.0 and I think I need a medium. With my measurements on a M/54 frame I'd need a 110mm stem which is OK. And with a setback post. This might make the 52cm an issue as on the S/52, the seat tube angle is pretty steep.

Anyway, would be helpful to know your seat top to BB centre please. Nothing looks worse than insufficient seatpost extension.....

Looks to be a bit more than 71cm. If you're looking for perpendicular (instead of following the seat tube, it looks to be around 70cm, but I'd have to take a more accurate measurement.

Thanks - is that measuring a line from the centre of the BB up a line through the centre of the seat tube to the seat top........ I think thats what you meant, but I'm feeling a bit thick as I have the flu.

I'm not. It was a serious consideration after selling the other set of schmolke bars (and breaking even). After a long ride on the addict, I decided I'm enjoying the new setup so much going to a different frame was not worth it.

I did just pick up exustar 200 ti pedals which are about 8g lighter than the iclics, the cleats are also about 10-15g lighter and they look ALOT better on the bike than the iclics!

So, exustar pedals dropped a few grams (as in under 10), but it looks as if fiber-lyte rings are in store for my vumaquad (birthday rapidly approaches). School ends June 24th. Thereafter should start the pics and weights!
