Hi from England

Postby Kinetic-UK » Sun Jan 30, 2011 3:51 am

Hi all, saw this site whilst searching for info on Günter Mai's Spin and think this site looks awesome :)

I currently retired from 5 years of XC riding and am building myself my first roadie which is nearly finished!

Any how glad to be part of this site, and look forward to meeting people :D

Hi Prichet unfortunately I don't have the frame yet as I have to pay off the instalments to my local shop before I get it.

Here are pics of the parts I have so far....

Easton Flat Bars,Wellgo 964 Pedals,SRAM Singlespeed Chain

DMR Simple Tension Seeker.

Tektro Brake Levers and Cove Seat Clamp.

Kinesis 7075 Aluminium Trainer Fork (600'ish grams)

Sportourer Comfort Seat.

Here is my build plan:

Someone who owns a T2 on Roadbike review.com siad their weighs 21lbs so mine with out none of the below should weigh in at 17-19lbs (I hope!)

And at 21lb including a rack, mudguards, a triple chainset, 2 bottle cages and heavy Michelin Axial Carbon tyres, it's light enough for most users.

I should have the bike built in 10-12 weeks though so I'll keep you updated if you want to subscribe to my Project Thread :D

Ha, my very first road bike was a Kinesis. Made out of Kinesium.

I liked it a lot and I still have it, so I'm really looking forward to this.

Thanks! It should be 10-12 weeks until I have it built so I'll keep the thread updated with the build, what KInesis did you own?

Thanks, I enjoy riding around the Kettering area! the countryside rides are peaceful, this is my usual commute....

I used to ride XC on my old Kinesis Maxlight, but eventually never got the chance to go to trails and ended up using it as a 'hybrid' but that wasn't the best bike hence why I've bought a road bike.

I've actually no idea what the frame is called exactly, this is what it looked like.

It's pretty versatile, this is what it looks like now, pretty much.
