The shape of the seat is alsmost the same as Selle Italia c64, I only made it 5mm shorter.

The tube has UD-finish.

I already tested it for one ride and everything went perfect - will write more about the product as soon as I manage to test it for a bit longer time..

Hope you like it!

Without rails, is there a lot of 'bend' at the edges, since there isn't any support from the rails?

That is really cool. I ride a c64 regularly, and am curious how it compares :)

Is the yellow outline patch at the back of the saddle there for reinforcement or flex as it looks a bit kevlarish?

Also can you somehow measure nose or back end deflection compared to a standard saddle very currious?

Amazing work man thats lighter than a lot of stock saddles keep it up!

That is a damn sexy saddle. That would make me switch over to a carbon saddle.

Thanks!!

About the back of the saddle - there is a kevlar-carbon reinfocement. Here just one more photo (just glued):

The nose of the saddle is really very stiff. The back of the saddle is quite flexible (left and right "wing") but it's not disturbing.. Will write more soon!

I just made 2.2h on my roller and everything went perfect - it's almost the same as sitting on the serial Selle Italia seat, the only difference is that it's probably just a little bit harder on the centre, but you just "fall" into the seat. I just love it!

I'll try to make some carbon fibre saddle rails for a normal seat - probably I could make the base of the seat a bit lighter (for more comfort) because the seat should be stiffer with the saddle rails. Will see

Very nicely done.

Maybe if you used a single but wider "rail" you'd get some flex and comfort?

Nice weight, but surely a saddle should flex in the middle and not the edges. This is the design goal of having rails that connect at the front and the rear so that the saddle is suspended in between, and flexes. This design looks to be antithetical to that principle.

You're right, but for the first product of that type I'm quite happy. It would be for sure better to make it like you describe it. But first I'll try to make ordinary saddle rails, and then I'll probably start with a new mould for the seat tube

And I prefer saddles with a hole on the centre...
