Neilpryde Bura sl (giggity giggity)

Postby mdeth1313 » Tue Feb 12, 2013 11:26 pm

Showed up today! My next build-- bura sl size small- - frame is 768g (w/ rear der hanger & cable guide). Fork is 302g uncut, but the fork isn't that long, not sure if I'll be cutting anything off. Can't wait to start building it up.

Don't go there! New company (to cycling), early production runs. Let's just say I was on top of it. My first real adventure in navigating the bicycling industry (God help those of you that do this for a living). Once they get their act together they should be outstanding.

I think so too. Got some of their other equipment and like their stuff.

What's the prospective build? Moving parts from existing bike or going for a new build?

That is a good-looking frame, and an impressive weight!

Build will come (mostly) from stripping down the blue ac1sl frame I have now.

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9137

changes are going to be the seatpost-- mcfk setback (27.2)

lightning sl cranks w/ extralite rings instead of vumaquads and I'll probably switch the seatpost collar from the NP stock one as well (but not right away).

definitely sub 12, possibly sub 11.5

I have to go do surgery on my finger (splinter removal)!

Wow. That weight would be impressive! Why ditching the Vumas?

Vumas: non-standard chainrings, no longer produced. Lightning: standard chainrings, use whatever I want.

Lightning crankset is also under 550g, vumaquads were about 579g- light is right!

Makes sense. So when are you moving the parts over?

MCFK post arrived today 107g (27.2 x 300)
PF30 BB for Lightning cranks 88g

Both are installed. Had to get a short ride in tonight, tomorrow night is my longer ride (computrainer) and I have a 3 day weekend to get this built up! Maybe, maybe I'll be able to get a short spin in on Monday (w/ alloy clinchers, the enve wheels are not coming out w/ all the crap all over these roads).
