Oh boy, good luck with the surgery.

I guess a broken collarbone is something every true racer has had at some point.

The hooligans, do they have no morales!?

Sorry to hear about your crash Jeff, at least the bike sounds ok. Collar bone breaks seem to be just run of the mill injuries these days for sports where you can fall off, you'll be back up and racing in no time, I'm sure! Something to brag about to your kids when they're faster than you!! :D

here, here, but more likely, Titanium! Maybe you'll score some cool painkillers from this!

Most likely titanium with a small possibility of surgical stainless steel. Carbon fibre is more or less X-ray transparent so not so good for surgical situations other than X-ray tables for people to lie on.

When you are healed get the Titanium bolts and pins and take them to a machine shop. Have the items turned down into new bolts for your bike and lighten it up a bit more. How cool would that be.

Yeah, medical grade titanium. Last ones I got my hands on were green and purple, make sure they use nice colors.

Sounds like we really need to get that San Remo Speedsuit group buy going. It's only two more, people. Do it for Jeff.

Ya, titanium plate, which is just awesome. And yes - I really want the San Remo suit. One of you other guys needs to step up!

Check out some of the position pictures from during the race.

Click on men's elite 4's and I am in there wearing the USA skinsuit. Vicky and I look so good together.

I still havent downloaded, but the power output was pathetic. With my fitness level I had no business racing. Jt was fun though - well, until the crash of course. Crash was at about the 20k point of the 30k race.

How did you crash if you do not mind me asking. Was it in a turn, gravel or operator error. My last crash was on wet train tracks and totally operator error as I took them in such a rookie way that I deserved what I got.

I hope you heal soon and that it was only the collarbone that got smashed.

I thought it was every cyclist? I was about to start a "show us your collarbone" topic but decided against it after taking a picture of mine. It looks funny but there was a tad too much "naked old man" too it.

I'm impressed with the photography, I know how difficult it can be getting side shots of a bike travelling at speed.
