Any problems in cutting a soldering Ultegra Di2 cables?

Postby Jens » Wed Oct 24, 2012 4:57 pm

Hi,

Yet another Di2 question. :D

As the title goes I would like to know if anybody have had any problems in cutting a reconnect/solder Ultegra Di2 cables? I plan on using the "twist and solder" method and close it all using heat shrink afterwards to seal it off properly.

I would just like to be sure before I take the drill to my non-Di2 frame (It would be a shame to find out myself that it doesn't work after I cut the cables and have drilled holes in the frame  )

TIA

Nope.

Just cut, strip, solder, and seal as you would any other wires.

I have done this more than once.

Use adhesive heatshrink tubing to seal it up, IMO.
