Favorite century rides

I'm looking for a top-notch century ride next autumn with a challenging route through a gorgeous landscape and reliably good weather, particularly one hosted in a great location for a vacation before/after with lots of good food and good wine. I've ridden several in the Smokies; perhaps now it's time to try one in New England/Vermont or California, such as the the GranFondo in Santa Rosa.

It's just how I feel about organized centuries, but I say take Fleetwood Mac's advice and 'go your own way'.

Whether it's shorter or longer than 100mi, whatever.. plan the loveliest route w/ the most elevation change. And being flexible so it's on the right sunny weekday with less traffic. I found it's useful to look on ridewithgps.com and borrow ideas from other people's routes.
