26.0 bars

I tried a search but came up empty

I am having a custom steel road bike built and am looking for some new bars. I currently have older Easton EC90 with the 45deg bend up top (form the flats by the stem to the hoods) instead of the standard rounded bend and like it alot.

I want some new bars, who makes a good carbon lightweight bar in 26.0? I would consider alloy if they were as light if not lighter than carbon.

I just dont like the look of the large 31.8 bars and stem on a skinny tubed steel frame

those are nice but Im a bit over the weight limit and a tad out of my price range. looking to keep them under $350 and I'm right around 200lb, once i get back to riding regularly I should get down to about 185-190lbs (I'm 6'3")

Hi Scooter,

I don't know such a thin and strong carbon bar.
Oversize or Super Over sizes, 31.8mm or more are made for weaker carbon material.
ax-lightness and Schmolke have high level technologies about carbon parts and making 26.0mm bars.
But they are exeptions.

I'm using custom steel frame too!
I'm using Deda 215 shallow shape aluminium bar, also 26.0mm because I don't feel good 31.8mm bar's upper part.

I've used Zipp contour and Kestrel Pro EMS. Both were available in 26.0 carbon. I'm not sure if they still make them but you could do a search and find them as new old stock or on ebay. The Kestrels are not very expensive...under 200USD.

Just checked, plenty of new Kestrel on ebay in the ballpark of 130USD.

You know I like the 3T Less 199
you can still find new old stock & they were lighter than many carbon bars

Cheap too on ebay new for roughly 80 bucks maybe less & free shipping ( I dont know seller but just searched )

There were also the 3TTT Prima 199 and 220. 3ttt offered most bars back then in Gimondi (track) bend, Merckx (deep) bend, Tour de France (shallow) and the Prima's also were available in anatomic. To compare bar geo see: http://ruedatropical.com/2009/03/road-d ... -geometry/
