On second thoughts, having destroyed my RD today, maybe Di2 isn't such a good thing?

OK, so I had my first problem with Di2 yesterday. When I started this project I had the brilliant idea that since I was shrink wrapping each wire together & then shrink wrapping all 4 wires together than I didn't need to solder the wires - that twisting them together would be enough. Well, at the start of yesterday's ride I couldn't get the RD to shift. Then I got off the bike & tapped the buttons & it worked find. I got back on the bike & it didn't work. Got off & it did. I shook the connection of the wire to the RD & then got back on & it worked fine. During the 1 hour ride that followed over rolling terrian with tons of shifting it worked fine, but I will be re-doing that wire to solder the connections when I re-do the rest of the wires.

I had hoped to have them all done by now, but I had an insane week at work this last week & just didn't have the time.

Jeesz Jeff- C'mon, you need to twist & solder, then heatshrink over the joint + a longer heatshrink on top of that = double insulation.

Get on with it man!

Ya, I know. Someone told me this short-cut method would be OK though & I went with it. Strange that it didn't work, worked, didn't work, then worked though. Damn electric connections.....
