I had a cervelo R3 2007 and just got my R3 2008

So why soes the bike with all the same kit one weigh 7.2kgs in comparison to 6.9kgs :shock:

Does it have the same fork? Did you cut the seatpost differently? Different cables or chain?
If not , that white paint sure is heavy. Especially for the R3 price increase for 08.

the big knock about the 2008 R3 is that its heavier, not as stiff and more expensive.

Well i now have a Alpha Q GS10 on it and before it was a wolf SL, and im led to believe that they are similar in weight, looking at the seat post the FSA SLK that is supplied is much heavier that the previous SLK, so ive found that the paint and the seatpost is where the extra weight is

So im now looking for a lighter seat post that fits without shim, any ideas?

Its actually cheaper in the UK now than ever before
my 1st R3 was Â£2199 and my new R3 i got for Â£1599

Nice.

I think I would have used black cables personally, but that sorta shows that the build is really sweet at the same time.

Is that a Garmin Edge? How do you like it? Any cons?

Im still waiting for the maps so at the moment its just like the Edge 305 with a better screen and a longer battery life

Just one question, why white ZIPP logos on the front wheel but red/white on the rear? did you buy them at different times?

As for the Garmin, I'd like to hear your thoughts once you've had chance to use it. I was thinking about getting a 305 recently but my local stockist stopped selling them

im selling my 305 soon so its just 11 months old with HRM and cadence :wink:

So if your interested :roll:

The front wheel developed a crack in it after going over a pot hole (english roads you know) And the replacement rim came with 2008 decals on it
