@ pritch, adrien is right...its a lot to do with the lens although PS can help make things look a little more interesting. A 5 min "interpretation" in PS of a rack of cycling shirts for instance.....
@ mike.k, I sure hope that wasnt plutonium on the tyre
I think maybe its a patch of oil that caught the light to produce that blue colour. I liked it so I made it a feature of the image.

Lightroom is starting to drive me bonkers with the incessive sharpening and whatnot. Or maybe it's just shotty JPEG export?

Hey Lee,
here's another pair of pedals!
Its all a matter of setting the appropriate DOF (depth of field) using the appropriate aperture size focussed on the appropriate points in the target subject matter.
