Down tube shifters? That's so cool!
Have you ever wondered if there was more to life, other than being really, really, ridiculously good looking?

Two compression layers, long sleeve jersey, and knee warmers. Ready for cooler weather? Check.

Yep, I got a strada the other day and love it. Much better than my ten year old halogen with only the low beam left working  Picked up some castelli cervelo test team knicks the other day too as they were on closeout. Figured they were pretty neutral as far as team kit goes.

My mum was telling me that the shop back home had brought in BSC Body science knicks which are apparently 'better than assos' and with compression. Anyone tried these? At 240 aussie dollars it was a bit much for me to justify at the moment!

I just picked up my 'new' car for travelling to races yesterday.

My previous vehicle was a 77 VW Kombi Bus campervan that was great for carrying the bikes plus accommodation sorted at races. When she was purring along it was my perfect car for those reasons, but I had one too many mechanicals over the years - the last in Tasmania at the Christmas carnivals was the final straw. All I can say is RACV Total Care (roadside assistance meant all towing, hire car and even accommodation in Tasmania as I was sleeping in the van) was covered, I certainly got my moneys worth over the years!

Therefore I was looking for something with some space and reliability, but didn't want a big 4WD. Recommendations were for the Subaru Forester - I kept an open mind and looked for other cars, but the search always returned to the Forester. I knew from fellow competitors that it can fit a bike inside with just the front wheel off, plus has a tow bar so can bolt on a rear carrier and it has the roof rails.

So in the end that is what I bought, and am now the proud owner of an 2004 Forester XT Luxury.

Front is 406 grams after removing decals, rear is 404. Since these will be daily riders when the weather turns nice (replacing my DV46t wheelset), going with White Industry hubs.

According to madcow it's a c-4 2.7usl wheelset. 1397g w/ rim tape. I'm debating whether or not to get veloplugs. I just took a 2 minute test ride on the driveway and in the street-- these could be fun!
20/28, cx-ray spokes, I don't remember which front hub, either the c-4 fh45 or 55 and the rear is the rh170.
I'll ride to work on them tomorrow!
