ENVE Twenty7.5 (650b) XC Rim Details
Anticipating a growth of the in-between sized 650b wheel market, ENVE has cannonballed into producing its "not too big, not too small, but just right," Twenty7.5 rim. The 27.5" (a term synonymous with 650b) platform capitalizes on the advantages of a 29er, allowing better traction, and obstacle clearance, combining it with the advantages of a 26" wheel, allowing better acceleration, handling, lower weight, more advanced suspension designs, and more frame options for shorter riders, while leaving out drawbacks of each respective design. On paper, 650b is the ideal mountain bike wheel size.
The Twenty7.5’s spoke holes are molded carbon fiber, encased in a completely unidirectional carbon fiber rim, making for an incredibly strong rim. In spite of the increased strength, each rim we've measured is a svelte 338 grams. ENVE’s process makes for some of the stiffest, lightest, and strongest wheels we build, leaving any traces of alloy rim favoritism of yesteryear in the dust. Additionally, decreased rolling resistance, and ability to run lower tire pressures are benefits of the UST tubeless certified compatibility. Each rim ships with a tubeless valve and rim tape.
