About the Author:

While growing up in southern California, Jason began cycling seriously on BMX bikes in 1978, at the ripe old age of six. Over the next ten years he rode nearly exclusively on 20" wheels. In the late 1980's Jason began riding mountain and road bikes and all but gave up BMX. Soon after his discovery of mountain biking, Jason quickly turned to the disciplines of street and trials riding, which he continues to this day. Despite the transition, you can still catch him out riding his 24" cruiser or busting out freestyle moves in the Fair Wheel parking lot.

Nowadays Jason can be found in his shop Monday through Friday looking like he's actually doing work, which is to say answering phones and responding to e-mails. When he's not playing office-boy, Jason can be found tinkering with and testing prototypes for various manufacturers, working on project bikes and top secret plans, or helping one of numerous professionals get their bikes dialed-in just right. Though he could now be seen more as a keyboard jockey than a mechanic, Jason does still find time to keep his wrenches turning and product knowledge current. In fact, he's been known to turn wrenches on the bikes of many professionals; such as mountain bikers Tinker, Ned, and Wells and roadies like Lance, Pena, and Wesseman. If you happen to be trying to get in touch with him, please be patient. Jason receives hundreds of e-mails and phone calls each day and can often take a while to get through them. But rest assured he does get to each and every one of them.
