About the Author:
By the time kindergarten started for Emiliano Jordan he had already built his first bicycle jump and, consequently, had experienced his first hospital visit for chin stitches. By age 12, Jordan knew that bicycles (and more specifically, bicycle racing) held a strong presence his future. Within a month of his introduction to mountain biking by a friend's father, Emiliano found himself on the start line of a race wearing a t-shirt and Converse All Stars. In this race he placed sixth out of fourteen. With his competitive appetite whetted, Emiliano invested in a pair of clipless pedals and went on to win the junior category of the Sandia Peak Challenge Stage Race.
Fast forward fourteen years and Jordan has spent his entire life dedicated in one way or another to cycling, including roles as racer, race mechanic, shop mechanic, and shop manager. His racing palmarès include several Arizona State Championships, as well as a New Mexico Series Championship. His racing career has also included an 18 month stint in Europe; a year with Tifell Calefacción and several months with the amateur Relax-GAM teams. Professionally, Emiliano now spends his time as a web designer focused on the cycling industry. He currently takes a break from code and the technical details of his job to publish content for Fair Wheel Bikes and several other cycling related publications.
