InSet is Chris King's entry into the contemporary bicycle market. It's not an integrated headset; Mr. King said he would never make an integrated headset, and he's still saying it. InSet, in the most general of terms, is the same heirloom quality King headset in a different shape. Call it what you will: semi-integrated, zero stack, or internal, InSet is the same time tested King headset in a modern iteration. It's compatibility includes bicycles with headtube bores of 44.0mm. Select models from Giant, Jamis, Scott, Pivot, Santa Cruz, and Trek are compatible with this standard.
InSet uses King's in-house manufactured and user serviceable sealed bearings. The only major difference with InSet over the traditional NoThreadset is that the bearing resides inside rather than outside the headtube as a traditional external headset does. The superior quality sealed bearings still remain press fit in the headset cups, and in turn the headset cups are press fit inside the bicycle's headtube. The InSet features the same functionality as a traditional external King headset, only with a different shape.
