Chris King's hybrid ceramic bottom bracket shares the same design features of their standard bottom bracket, with an upgraded bearing that uses ceramic balls paired with stainless steel races. This hybrid ceramic bearing offers superior strength and performance at a slightly lower weight. The nature of this in-house built bearing allows it to be run with a very small amount of low viscosity lubrication for low drag and improved efficiency in power transfer. Superior bearing seals and a user-serviceable design ensure no compromise in the lifespan of this high quality component.
Chris King bottom brackets are designed and manufactured in Portland, USA and include a 5 year warranty against defects in materials and manufacturing.
Chris King bottom brackets are compatible with all Hollowtech II and GXP cranksets, as well as most other 24 mm spindle cranksets. For Sram, Truvativ, and Bontrager GXP stepped spindles, Chris King's GXP adapter will be required.
Due to the precise design of this bottom bracket, it is highly recommended that the frame's bottom bracket shell be chased and faced prior to installation. To avoid cosmetic damage to the bottom bracket, it is recommended that you use an HTII BB installation tool that makes full contact with the bearing cups splines.
