They should coat the cranks and cogs with DLC… It will be more expensive though.

Just like bearings….if the ball bearings are ceramic but the races are aluminum…the races will get ruined 1st… That’s a shout out to all shimano wheelsets owners- its not smart to replace your loose ball bearings with ceramic…just get better grade bearings – grade 25 or grade 10 is really smooth
