Could you provide the spoke bed thickness for the xr279?

I am interested in this rim for a light-ish tandem wheelset and hope to be able to built at a rather high spoke tension (+/- 1300N/m)to ensure solidity and stiffness.

I want to avoid spokes puling through he rim as it often happens with the Rolf Prima tandem set -- hence the quest for a thicker spoke bed.

Thanks

Yeah, they're tubeless friendly. The bead is shaped a bit different and is slightly larger diameter. When we wrote the rim review we were planning on getting them made in silver. I just went and fixed that. Thanks!

I have a set of SL23 wheels that I'm happy with, but changing a flat tire alongside the road is quite challenging. Fit is tight as tubeless-ready rims are.I mean TIGHT. Going to see if Velo plugs help.
In your SL23 review you note the rims come in silver, but this doesn't appear to be the case.
Happy trails!

Slightly OT. Can you give me your opinion on the Velocity Aeroheads 28h/32h laced to Velocity Race hubs? I have this set from a bike purchase and would like to offer to a friend in need but he is a 190/200# rider and likes a stiffer wheel. I have Velocity A23s that are perfect for my intended use buy not so stiff. Just dont want to sell him the wrong wheelset.

Thanks in advance Jason.

What rims do you recommend for a tandem? We are using Velocity Deep V's, 32 front / 36 rear, which we have toured on. Basically bullet proof. We weigh 300 lbs. I had built up a pair with Velocity Fusions that did not hold up at all. We have since upgraded to Grand Bois Cypress 700x30c tires so I am thinking of wider rims.

Would you be kind enough to comment on eyelets? Single, double, and none. My n=1 sample is that my 28h DT415s (single eyelet) cracked in 3 places on the rear wheel with about 6000 miles. Replaced with the 465s (double eyelet). Ok, so fat, but it's early. fwiw, I'm 6' and 180 lbs.
