There’s some great rides around these parts! Dalai, make sure to stop by and say hi. 4kicks, you’ve solidified my need to go to Mallorca. I’ve been rock climbing a lot more lately and I hear that’s spectacular as well. So…
Also, one of my favorite places in the world to ride so far has been Northen New Mexico. I can’t get over the beauty of MTBing and the roads. Little traffic and some of the most beautiful scenery ever.
Here’s a few shots from the Sandia Peak Road Race.
And one from Tres Piedras to Tierra Amarilla.
None of these are new, all circa 2005. Hope you all enjoy them.June 25, 2013 at 3:27 pm #94080
This is a fascinating map…amazing to see strava users right up in the arctic circle
What is striking to me from this map (I am an englishman living in San Francisco) is the massively high use of strava seemingly over the whole of the United Kingdom. I am surprised, I thought it was still in its infancy there, and more of an American-used software
I thought the general country to country adaption was interesting too. Looks like the French are not entirely into Strava, while Belgium, the Netherlands, and the UK seem to be right with the US in activity.

It turns out that I will have to get a bike with a standard BSA bottom bracket or I would have to get a new SRM, which isn’t an option. So a BMC is out. The Venge is out too.
The Praxis conversion has been wonderful. I know it’s not an optimal solution just wanted to make sure you had that in the back of your mind.June 19, 2013 at 5:47 pm #94019June 19, 2013 at 5:43 pm #94018June 19, 2013 at 5:38 pm #94017June 19, 2013 at 5:37 pm #94016June 19, 2013 at 5:28 pm #94015June 18, 2013 at 7:28 pm #93979June 18, 2013 at 7:26 pm #93978
I used short cranks (170mm) on my TT bik. I noticed, SRM data, an improvement in my power. It’s hard to say if this was because of an increase in form though. So I compared 20 min efforts TT vs road bike and TT looked better compared to the road bike I didn’t change my cranks on. So… I went shorter there too. I’m 6’2″ on a 58cm frame.June 18, 2013 at 3:03 pm #93961June 14, 2013 at 9:15 pm #93897June 14, 2013 at 5:07 pm #93839June 13, 2013 at 7:32 pm #93799
Any idea of the deflection differences between Super Record with Ti axle and the tested Record with steel axle?
We can’t say too much but we decided to wait for a short period to re-test Campagnolo cranks. The steel version here is from the last test before the Ti version was released. We’ll have our new testing facilities up and running by then too.
