What is the weight difference between the carbon shield version and the non-carbon shield version?
We only have a few prototypes here at the shop right now so I don’t know how acuratly this speaks to the production version but the carbon shield is not heavy. 10-15g
I read that only the Pads Shimano fit this brake. I use Campagnolo Bora Ultra wheels. Is there any compatibility solution in this case?
You can use the Fulcrum brake pads. They’re the same compound but are available for Shimano style brake pad holders.
We just got limited quantities in. Enjoy,
Really, really nice builds. What are the frame sizes, and what’s the weight on the clincher wheelset, if you have it?
I’m sending my 2012 Z5 SLi back to Boston for a custom paint job after 7000 miles, but these are indeed great machines.
Let us know how the paint turns out. We’d all like to see it. The clincher set weighed in right at 1244g.
Ypsylon, thanks for your response. I noticed that there are allen bolts behind the rear axle. Was wondering if when tightened they pulled the rear wheel back to tension the chain. Some motocross bikes used such mechanisms in the past.
It’s a BMX chain tensioner that we modified a bit. You’re right, it’s a washer with a bolt that tightens against a plate that is braced on the back of the horizontal drop out. Very similar to what some motorcycles use. They come in a few different types and shapes but they’re all pretty much the same concept.
These would fit the same frames and forks as the Shimano direct mount brakes, right?
Any idea when these will be available?
We don’t have an official date yet but we’re not expecting them to take long.
